“Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” George Orwell
My name is Kerry.
I am a recent graduate with a first class degree in history and have been transfixed by the discipline ever since my first visit to Hever Castle at the tender age of seven.
Having previously worked for the National Trust at Ham House, I am currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at a South London school in what is a rather belated (and well needed) post-graduate gap year. In line with my passion for the subject of history and in pursuit of my long-term ambition, in September I will be returning to university at the Institute of Education to study for my PGCE.
This blog is an outlet for my musings upon history, heritage and education. Though be warned all ye who enter here, I have a little bit of an early modern bias.
